Your whole community benefits when everyone gets healthcare. That’s why Montage Health operates a mobile clinic to care for those who are uninsured or underinsured and for the more than 2,300 homeless people in Monterey County. Learn more about this outreach initiative, and discover how you can contribute.
What is the mobile clinic?
The mobile clinic is a specially converted bus that has medical equipment and two exam rooms. It regularly visits public areas providing care for those who have trouble accessing health care. A nurse practitioner, other clinicians, and volunteers take care of guests on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Patients at the mobile clinic can take advantage of primary care for conditions such as:
- Cold symptoms, including coughs, earaches, sinus issues, and sore throats
- Diabetes, such as blood sugar checks, education, and prescriptions for blood sugar control medications
- High blood pressure, including pressure checks and prescriptions for medications
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
The clinic isn’t operating now due to COVID-19. We’ll update this webpage when it reopens.
In bad weather, the clinic is open to a limited number of patients. It’s closed on holidays.
