Double Up Food Bucks

Double Up Food Bucks is here in Monterey County.

Double Up Food Banks California

According to our recent Community Health Needs Assessment, food insecurity is more common here in Monterey County than other places in the U.S. For families experiencing food insecurity, this often means they have run out of food at some point in the past year or have worried about not having enough to eat.

This work is supported in part by funding from the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the USDA’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture.

How Double Up Food Bucks works:

  1. Be enrolled in CalFresh (SNAP).
  2. Shop at a participating grocery store.
  3. In the produce section, look for the Double Up Food Bucks logo — everything marked with the logo qualifies for a discount because it is California-grown.
  4. Pay with your CalFresh EBT card and get an automatic discount of up to $15 per day.

Example: Buy $25 of California-grown produce, only pay $12.50. The savings will show on your receipt under the California produce department.
