Who is the Beast?
According to our most recent Community Health Needs Assessment, more adults in our Monterey County community have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes than other communities in the United States. The Beast (type 2 diabetes) puts our families, friends, and neighbors at risk. We call type 2 diabetes The Beast because, like a beast, it’s always lurking and can quietly wear down our health if we don’t face it.
The good news is that simple changes in our daily lives can prevent type 2 diabetes. Together, we can make better choices for healthier living in Monterey County.
