Dr. Kyla Velaer is a urologist at Montage Medical Group. She studied biochemistry at the University of Kansas, spent two years as a researcher at a bioengineering start up, and traveled through Asia as a golf caddie. Dr. Velaer graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was awarded the Nathan G. Alcock Scholarship for outstanding achievement in urology. During residency at Stanford, she completed specialized training in quality improvement and worked on programs to increase access to urology care. She is passionate about providing high quality urology care to all members of the community and practices in all areas of urology, with special interests in pediatrics, neurogenic bladder, voiding dysfunction, and robotic surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new hiking trails with her dog and reading at the beach.
