Preventing youth alcohol and drug use

In addition to providing classes and resources that educate youth and families about substance use prevention, Ohana also leads a community-based drug prevention coalition that features substance use awareness clubs throughout Monterey County schools.

Ohana Youth Advisory

Ohana’s Youth Advisory (OYA) is a council of high school students who advise Ohana in decision-making and program development. They meet regularly and discuss program-related decisions including class and workshop topics, therapeutic programming ideas, mental health education content and materials, drug and alcohol prevention content and materials. Learn more about the advisory and how students can apply.

School programs

Ohana’s school-based mental fitness program provides mental fitness skill-building and education to youth, parents, and school staff in Monterey County. An Ohana therapist or social worker provides services at select middle schools one day per week throughout the school year. Learn more.
