Color walks with you
The way Leah Rosenberg sees it, color and nature are the best medicine.
They can improve moods, bring back memories, tell stories, and inspire growth. All of it comes together in her site-specific mural at Ohana.
Her 20-color palette, developed with contributions from the Ohana Youth Advisory, greets you at our check-in area. Shifting light, changing seasons, and the landscape surrounding our building inspired the piece. She hopes the colors will accompany you throughout your stay at Ohana and follow you home.
“It walks with you in a way, this piece,” Rosenberg says. “The arrangement of the stripes coming together and then breaking apart is how the healing process can sometimes feel. Some parts are orderly, and some are wildly complicated. No matter what culture or location people are coming from, or what language they speak, I hope these colors will make them feel welcome and understood.”

The Ohana experience
At Ohana, we see healing as more than treatment. It’s a personal journey that touches your whole family. We bring together community support, calming spaces, and personalized care to create the one-of-a-kind Ohana experience. It’s our goal to help your child thrive in every area of life. Because when your child heals, your whole family grows stronger together.
Ohana’s approach
Our approach starts with you. From evaluation through treatment and beyond, we involve your family at every step. You’ll never feel lost or unsure where to go next. We’ll guide you through the process and build the right care plan. This way, you can focus on what matters most: being there for your child.
As a vital part of the care team, you’ll always have the information you need about your child’s condition. Just as important, we’ll give you the tools to support their healing. A big part of our program is mental fitness — the idea that mental health can grow stronger with care and practice. Together, we’ll build healthy habits around sleep, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness, and social connection. You’ll leave feeling confident and prepared to keep your child’s progress going at home.
Holistic treatment programs and settings
Our treatments are evidence-based, meaning they’re designed for your child’s specific diagnosis. But we go beyond just clinical care. We use a mental health evaluation to learn how your child heals best. For some, that’s therapy or medication. For others, it’s creative expression or connection to nature. We offer programs to support every part of their life — mind, body, and spirit.
Your child can also thrive in a treatment plan that works for their lifestyle. Whether that’s regular outpatient visits or more advanced support through our residential program, you’ll find it here.

A cutting-edge campus designed for healing
When it comes to your experience at Ohana, we believe the right setting can powerfully enhance the care we provide. So, we designed a campus where every detail promotes healing. Tucked in Monterey’s coastal hills, our building blends with nature. Expansive views, natural light, and open areas help create a space that feels hopeful, not clinical.
Your child will have quiet time and space for private comfort. They can enjoy communal areas, too, such as our gardens, patio, and outdoor amphitheater. We want Ohana to feel like a second home. It’s a place where your family can breathe, reflect, and grow.
