Gus Halamandaris, MD is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in surgeries of the brain and spine using the latest surgical and microsurgical techniques, advanced technologies and minimally-invasive procedures.

He received a BA from the University of California, San Diego in 1980 and earned his medical degree in 1984 at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City. He completed a general surgery internship at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond in 1986 and a neurosurgical residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1990.

Dr. Halamandaris is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgery, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the European Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is a member of the medical staffs of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Monterey Peninsula Surgery Centers, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and Natividad Medical Center.

Dr. Halamandaris lives in Monterey with his wife and children. He is an avid furniture maker and stone carver.
