Dr. Tyler S. Cole is a neurosurgeon who cares for patients with conditions of the brain and spine. He specializes in both open (traditional) and minimally invasive surgeries to treat epilepsy and conditions involving the skull base, spine, and cerebrovascular system (blood vessels in the head and neck). He directs University of California, San Francisco's cerebrovascular surgery and interventional and endovascular stroke services at Montage Health. Dr. Cole has been at the forefront of research and innovation in neurosurgery. He has pioneered advancements in microvascular surgery and postoperative recovery techniques and has conducted extensive research on surgical outcomes using large-scale databases. He has received numerous honors for his work to improve patient care, including awards for best operative technique and best clinical research from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. His research has been featured on covers of the Journal of Neurosurgery, and he has made presentations around the country.
