U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 

Community Hospital was honored as a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, achieving a High Performing rating across 12 procedures and conditions. 

American Heart Association (AHA) Stroke and Diabetes Gold Plus Award 

The AHA again awarded Community Hospital for achieving high standards of care for diabetes and stroke patients. Studies show patients can recover better when the AHA’s guidelines are consistently followed, and this award highlights Community Hospital’s commitment to providing care that aligns with the latest research-based treatment guidelines. 

AHA Heart Failure Silver Plus Award 

Community Hospital’s heart failure program was awarded the AHA’S Silver Plus Award which recognizes diligence in providing evidence-based care for heart failure patients. 7.3 percent of Monterey County’s population has heart disease, which is .4 percent higher than the California average, highlighting the importance of Community Hospital’s commitment to advancing heart failure care. 

AHA Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Silver Award 

The AHA awarded Community Hospital the Silver Award for consistently adhering to guidelines for treating patients with coronary artery disease STEMI, ensuring high-quality care and outcomes and demonstrating our commitment to improving patient survival and recovery rates. 

Safe and Healthy Schools and Communities Leadership Award 

Montage Health's Prescribe Safe program is the first-ever recipient of the Safe and Healthy Schools and Communities Leadership Award. The award was granted by the Monterey County Office of Education and the Monterey County Safe and Healthy Schools and Communities Coalition. Prescribe Safe was selected for the significant impacts the initiative is making in addressing opioid overdoses and deaths, including from fentanyl, and drug addiction within our community

Opioid Care Honor Roll — Superior Performance Award 

For the third year in a row, Community Hospital received the Superior Performance designation, the highest award in Cal Hospital Compare’s Opioid Care Honor Roll program. Cal Hospital Compare, a nonprofit organization providing Californians with objective performance ratings for more than a decade, recognized Community Hospital’s strides in increasing access to addiction treatment for hospitalized patients and reducing opioid-related deaths.
