Gathering for Women
We support Gathering for Women to help unhoused women in Monterey County go from surviving to thriving.
“Montage Health has been an incredible partner, ensuring Gathering for Women can provide guests with access to basic mental and physical healthcare, nutritious food, and case management on their pathway out of homelessness,” says Staci Alziebler-Perkins, executive director of Gathering for Women. “One of our guests, an isolated 65-year-old disabled senior without a vehicle, shared how difficult it was to find a safe place to eat, dress, shower, and sleep. A year later, she’s in her own apartment and credits our case managers for giving her the advice, direction, and support she needed to find her way home.”
The Wahine Project
The Wahine Project helps youth build confidence and joy through ocean-based experiences. Montage Health’s support helped The Wahine Project:
- Eliminate barriers to ocean access through equipment, wetsuits, and staff training
- Help youth foster lasting connections with the natural world
- Empower youth to push their boundaries, discover new strengths, and adapt to challenges
- Provide surfing, boogie boarding, and beach experiences to reduce stress and increase mobility
