New Year resolutions and fitness go hand and hand. This year, Sattar Hadi, MD, Clinical Nutrition and Internal Medicine, Montage Medical Group, has some helpful tips to keep you healthy and on track.

With the holiday season behind us, we can all make small changes that affect our overall health. Dr. Hadi says drinking more water is one of those simple steps that can make a big difference. He also recommends to decrease saturated fats, which are found in butter, eggs, meats, and increase fiber intake.

Most people need 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day, a good start to that would be three fruits and three vegetables a day.
