Medical Minute: Women’s health

Montage Health Medical Minute With Dr. Clark

In this month’s Medical Minute, Dr. Elizabeth Clark, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Montage Medical Group, provides tips for women’s health and well-being.

“It’s really important to make time for yourself,” Clark says. Between work and family commitments, women are often left with little to no time for themselves. Mental health and self-care are vital to overall wellness.

Clark warns against relying on social media or other online sources for medical information. “TikTok is not a doctor and a lot of the people on TikTok or Instagram aren’t physicians.”

When it comes to menopause, the journey is different for everyone. Some women may experience mild or no symptoms, while others may struggle with hot flashes, mood swings, insomnia, and brain fog.

“Diet and exercise are the foundations of your health and are important if you’re trying to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy, and if you’re going through menopause,” Clark says.

For those who need help getting pregnant, Montage Health provides multiple fertility treatments.

“Ovarian reserve can drop as we get closer and closer to age 40,” Clark says. “We’re offering fertility options including ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination.”
