Meet Visitor Services volunteer Christopher A. Harvard
As a member of the Montage Health Foundation Auxiliary team, Christopher A. Harvard serves as a patient ambassador for guests of Community Hospital. His purpose is to bring guests and patients together in the interest of fostering the kind of special connection that supports health and wellbeing. Which means collaborating with the many departments of Community Hospital and its partnering locations.
Harvard’s favorite part about volunteering is the opportunity to bring people together, from various circumstances and walks of life, for that precious chance to spend time with family or friends for what may be the very first or the very last time.
Volunteering for visitor services helps me connect with my community by becoming a conduit between people in need. To have the opportunity to satisfy needs or find someone who can be of service is fulfilling.
—Christopher A. Harvard, patient ambassador volunteer, Community Hospital
Harvard’s driving message to anyone interested in volunteering for Community Hospital is to remember, above all else, that all people who become patients of the hospital and those who may come to visit them become VIPs the moment they cross the threshold. “And they must be treated as such, intentionally,” he says, “by the fine staff and volunteers of Community Hospital.”
